The summer vacation has already finished. We all had our activities with our kidsand and families: trips, camping, parties, surprises and having fun.
And Gilad?
Gilad is surely praying to be released from the place he is being held
Three years have passed. On June 26, 2006 the soldier Gilad Shalit was kidnapped by the Hamas. By now, his friends, recruited with him to the IDF military service, are long since released from the army...
And Gilad?
Gilad is still a soldier, still in the Hammas captivity
We ask you to participate in the campaign for his release, so that together we will reach the goal: Free Gilad from his captivity.
Take photos showing "Freedom", summer activities of families, parents and children, in combination with the call to free Gilad Shalit.

Our aim is to gather as many pictures as possible, show them in the website www.2freeGilad.com and in exhibitions, distribute them in public and send them to leaders in Israel and all over the world, awaken and drive the worldwide public opinipn to support the struggle to free Gilad and have him released ASAP

Please Read the letter below that describes a campaign to help raise awareness as to the situation of Gilad Shalit-who is still alive, and could be each of our' son - and ultimately lead to his releaseWe would like to get as many pics possible, and AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Time is of the essence here and the main idea, to utilise the Partnerships, as the largest global Jewish organization, serving as a bridge between Israel and the Jewish world in the Diaspora and get this rolling worldwide,recruiting public opinion all over the world for the release of kidnapped soldiers.
We must all remember that Gilad is still alive and that each day in prison is a day of suffering for him, for his family, his friends, for the State of Israel and the entire Jewish people, who together await his release.Despite best efforts by the Israeli government, Gilad remains out of sight and out of touch. The Shalit Family lives in Mitzpe Hila in the North, an area within the P2K Confrontation Line/Great Britain region. As a member of our international Partnership Family, we are asking you to take a stand and help increase public awareness for Gilad’s safe release.Spinoffs in any direction are welcome within your communities, local groups etc.
For example-I would like to tell you that in Karmiel this has already developed into a Hannuca torch parade that is annualy held at one of the local schools, and this year it will be with Gilad in mind "From darkness to Light".
To make this happen people need to take a picture in person and not just forward to their mailing lists.
The success of this effort will only come through your willingness to champion the campaign. It is a simple task, yet it is one of the most meaningful initiatives you can undertake.

To Our Dear Friends,
We are writing to let you know about the latest initiative sponsored by the Jewish Agency's "Partnership 2000" program to inaugurate a unique photo exhibit to be presented on the Web aimed at instilling public interest in the demand to release the kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.
Since the June 25, 2006 terrorist attack at Kerem Shalom, Gilad has been held captive by the Hamas in the Gaza Strip for the past 900 days.In this campaign, we are requesting from families, schools, delegations, community centers and youth movements, etc, to prepare signs with the message "Gilad is Still Alive", photograph yourselves with your signs and email them to us at yad.shalit@gmail.com no later than December 31, 2008.
The idea is to concentrate as large a number of photographs as possible on a designated website, and produce clips and presentations that will be distributed throughout the Web and sent to leading journalists, politicians and community leaders in the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Europe and Israel in order to stimulate public opinion to promote Gilad's release.
An important note concerning the photographing of children: Please note that it is not possible to publish the photographs of minors without their parent's prior consent. Therefore, we recommend that all children's photographs be taken by their parents and sent directly from their email and as such implies parental approval. If however the activity is conducted in any other framework, without the parents' in attendance, the photographs should not include the children's faces.
